This picture shows a formerly neglected border that we weeded and planted up with some tough little Hebes last year. Since then a new tenant has moved in and has added to the planting with their own colourful bedding plants and is now maintaining this space. We hope to take over more neglected corners and ‘forgotten gardens’ to encourage local people to look after them and grow food and flowers for all to enjoy.
We have organised four Community Work days where we are asking residents and local people to help us to improve the neighbourhood. This week we’ll be on Westminster Road inviting residents to come out and work with us to keep it tidy and to plant some beautiful and edible plants in front gardens, for all to enjoy.
If you want to take part just turn up on the day, wear old clothes and we will provide protective gloves and all the materials. Meet by Westminster School, Westminster Rd entrance.
